Getting stuck in for a local charity

Community work is all about rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in...

The Grove office staff at The Green Patch, Kettering

Which is exactly what the Howdens' team from 'The Grove' office in Northampton did in August 2012. They spent two days working at The Green Patch, an allotment site used for short breaks for children with disabilities, education sessions for children with behavioural problems, and general school visits.

Due to its popularity, the site - which is managed by the charity Groundwork Northamptonshire - needs a lot of maintenance to keep it safe and accessible. So the team got involved in everything from painting, gardening and fencing to repairing paths and building ramps.
