British Standards (BS)

British Standards (BS)

In all instances it is good practice to fit British Standards approved locks to all of your external doors. In many cases this is an insurance company requirement and may reduce your premium. Approved locks carry the BSI Kitemarkā„¢ and are approved to either BS 3621:2007 or BE EN 1303, rigorous test standards to which locks must perform.

Other safety standards locks should conform to are BS EN 1154:1997, BS EN 1125:2008 and BS EN 179:2008.
