A Home Office Makeover With Zita

This home office makeover with Zita highlights how to create a fashion-forward and practical study that is great for home working. Passionate about design, Zita wanted an office that would give her space to focus during work, while maintaining the wider look and feel of her home's interior. Opting for grey cabinetry, she has balanced timeless, shaker style with an on-trend neutral to create a calm study area that promotes productivity. Adding plenty of areas to store supplies, her room is functional, fashionable and packed full of home office inspiration

            About Zita

Zita shares her 1950s detached house with her family. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she had to work remotely and found it hard to focus without a dedicated study. By converting her unused garage, she created a separate home office from scratch, which captures the rustic style of her interior.

            The design details

            • Serene shades

Offering a calm backdrop that aids concentration, Zita selected dove-grey units. The muted hue has a timeless appeal that is easy to style up or down.
            • Classic charm

Opting for shaker doors, the added border brings an extra element to the design, creating a classical scheme, that matches her signature rustic decor.
            • Mixed handles

Zita mixed knob and cup handles to create visual interest in the space, breaking up the single swathe of colour across her one-wall layout.

            • Hardworking wood

She also chose a solid-wood surface for her desk to add character to the area. Its robust material stands up to daily tasks for an office setup that lasts.
            • Office organisation

Drawers give Zita a spot for stationery and frequently-used files. The different compartments allow her to keep things organised creating a clutter-free zone.
            • Stacked storage

Maximising height in her room, towers offered valuable storage for stowing large items out of sight. By reducing visual distractions, ZIta found it easier to focus.
