Lost interest quickly when they thought I didn't have thousands to spend
Contacted for kitchen renovation costs and advice.Initial contact good, amiable chap came to measure up and we then visited store for walk through and said would work out costs.Called to advise of costs worktop we chose was £10,000 not much other info so asked if they could email me breakdown so I could look at highpoints in costings and see where we needed to make any adjustments . Agreed, and said he would call me in 2 days to review. Neither happened. I assume colleague believed he could make the decision on my budget and deemed me unable to decide for myself. Have gone to competitor now as better customer service.

Great service and quality.
Another kitchen purchase from the Llanelli depot, once again from planning to delivery was very professional. Product great quality and competitively priced. Ordered and delivered within 7days. Darren, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks for another great experience.

Prey on the old
Prey on the old. My 80 year old mother went and sat with a kitchen designer.alone, against my advice. She talked about not wanting floor lights but having them underneath the cupboards. She told him we had an oven but would need a curved glass hood. The CAD drawing was done which showed the hood and a 3D render of the kitchen design showed both the hood and the lights under the cupboard. They were never supplied. Neither were hot plates for the edges of the worktops or pipework for the sink. My contractor picked these up from a local Howdens and was charged over £400 for them. When I queried this, I was told that although they should've been included, as the contractor picked them up from a different branch, there was nothing they could do!!! Absolutely ridiculous - took a complaint to head office to get a credit for that. As for the hood, that took a shouting match with the most unprofessional "manager" I've ever dealt with, who in the end agreed to provide a cheaper metal hood and not the curved glass one on the design, because it wasn't on the quote. Similarly, the lights "weren't on the quote", despite being on the 3D drawing. If anyone has ever seen a Howdens quote, they'll know it's just a bundle of part numbers, abbreviations and descriptions a member of the public could never make any sense of. Had an email today from customer service to say that as the depot don't recall any conversation about lights, tough - nothing they can do. If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. Everyone I talk to in the trade says the same thing - how they get away with such poor service is beyond me. Don't touch these guys.

Quick delivery but didn’t send brackets…
Quick delivery but didn’t send brackets for one of the wall units so delayed completion of our kitchen and we ordered a work top and was damaged we cut it to size but still a damaged piece but we had to use otherwise we couldn’t use the sink

Disappointing service from such an established local company
Went to Howdens in Llangennech for a new kitchen, initially Mathew came out to measure and produced a 3d plan which we were really happy with. Upon waiting for the sale, we purchased our new kitchen for over £8500. We were told that payment was had to be made before a certain date (no issues) and that the kitchen would be delivered the following week which it was. Upon delivery, I appreciate damage can occur during transit which ultimately one of the kitchen worktops was, It was noted on the delivery note by the couriers and duly changed a week later. Since delivery, there have been a number of issues consisting of missing doors and drawers, further damaged rails and wrong sized units delivered. Upon the carpenter and plumber being contracted to install the following week, it transpires that the initial measurements taken were wrong and after agreeing on the same configuration as our existing kitchen, this was now not the case as the pipework under the sink was not taken into consideration and ultimately our new dishwasher had to be moved and reduced considerably in size to correspond to the units. Due to the mis-measurements evolving around the cooker, the configuration of the cabinets had to be changed which resulted in further delays and costs. After ringng the office requesting an eta for the delivery of the units (that were initially miscalulated) to be told that it will be with us before 5pm but they were in Trimsaran first. 5pm arrived and nobody had turned up and I received no contact. This issue was going to be investigated but again i have heard nothing since. I had the carpenter and plumber here all day waiting to install the units and plumb in all the appliances to which has now transpired to be at a considerable extra cost to myself for no reason whatsoever and no explanation apart from a breakdown in communication or lack of any. I am extremely annoyed that I had NO contact regarding the delay whatsoever and again there have been further delays and errors in our kitchen that has now had a significant delay with regards to installation which has incurred myself further costs for wages for the tradesmen. My wife was away on a cruise and I realistically wanted it completed before she came home on the Monday (yesterday) but now this was NOT going to be the case. We have obviously had to have a more slimline dishwasher instead of the original one ordered and the units did NOT fit. A drawer slide was broken and new drawers and fronts had to be ordered and not due again until the Friday (20th oct). The night before I emailed the store requesting an eta for the following day as I was working and wished to arrange for my carpenter to attend and carry out the work to have again NO reply. The following morning, I rang the store in dismay to be informed that there had been NO delivery due for us the previous day, to my total distain. I cannot understand where the shortfalls and miscommunication had arisen from by basic instructions not been adhered to. There seemed to be one thing after another and not having updated contact was rediculous. Im unsure as to the process with regards to different branches in the area but Howdens have a branch literally at the bottom of our road and im sure this could have been dealt with more efficiently and smoothly for myself the customer. Im essence, I am extremely annoyed thst I had to endure considerable delays which are literally down to basic errors. I can truly appreciate that damage can occur during transit but these issues should have been rectified far more swiftly for myself. These delays and lack of contact or on occasions NO contact at all, has genuinly had massive implications for myself with regards to extra costs incurred for tradesman wages (2 days each) when they are here but have waited all day for deliveries that were promised were arriving and never materialised. I have received No further feedback regarding the the delays from the store since last week. I am extremely disappointed with the customer sevice received from such an established local company.
