Glad we ordered kitchen from Howdens

Most of it is good. Let's get the bad part out of the way. Their corner cupboard options are less good than the competition. Almost stopped us ordering. Howdens, if you’re reading, make better corner units. The other thing that was quite frankly a bit crap compared to competing services was the design process. Other firms were *much* easier to deal with in terms of design ideas, design changes, appointments, software, etc. So much so, we were not taking Howdens very seriously up until a month before our kitchen fit. They were 3rd or 4th most likely to get the order. However, where Howdens comes into its own is at the business end of the process. And we are glad we went with them in the end. We dealt with the Yate branch in Bristol. The bit from taking final measurements through to delivery and fit, they were excellent. There were last minute changes, additions, and a few extras we needed mid fit. There was a bit of price negotiation. There were returns (surplus rather than faulty). All of this was dealt with with aplomb. This is the part of the process that all could have gone very badly (that post-order nightmare, phoning up and going on hold, weeks delay for replacing missing parts etc. that one hears about people experiencing with other suppliers) but instead went very well. And unlike some competitors Howdens are good at supplying solid timber worktop and the associated care products. We are a few weeks into the new kitchen and everything seems good quality. The corner cupboards are annoying, but the rest is pretty satisfying so far. On the whole very glad to have chosen Howdens.
