A guide to our fire rated hardware
All the specialist fire rated hardware we offer has been tested to meet all relevant fire regulations. Please always remember to consult a qualified building inspector for exact fire door accessory requirements.
A legal requirement when fitting any fire door, door closers ensure the door is closed and latched when not in use to prevent fire from spreading. All our overhead door closers come with a 10 year manufacturer\'s guarantee.
Essential in ensuring the integrity of the fire door is not compromised during an emergency, all our graded hinges are fire rated. Our wide range of graded hinges suit every application, from heavy commercial to light domestic use. It is recommended a minimum of 3 hinges are used when installing a fire door, with the grade of hinge dictated by the weight of the fire door being fitted. For further information view our simple hinge grade calculator.
First rated door Linings, casings & frames are required when installing a new fire door to help prevent fire or smoke passing through a door opening. FD30 softwood linings and casings can be used internally and are pre-grooved to fit up to 15mm intumescent strips. FD30 softwood and FD60 hardwood door frames are suitable for external fire doors and are supplied with suitable intumescent strips pre-fitted or ready to be assembled on site.
We have 16 fire rated handles that have a higher melting point to ensure the integrity of the handle is not compromised in the event of a fire. They are all fire rated up to 60 minutes and suitable for use with all fire doors. These can be identified by the FH logos and FD30/60 labels.
Used in commercial applications, panic hardware enables quick and easy access through an exit door with minimum effort. All panic hardware is fire rated up to 60 minutes.
Our intumescent products react to heat in the event of a fire and seal the door to help prevent the spread of smoke.
Quick-setting, fire rated expanding foam expands on application to fill small holes or gaps. Once set, it can provide up to 4 hours fire resistance in linear joints and help to control the spread of fire.
