Guarantee Terms and Conditions

Howden Joinery (Ireland) Limited (“Howdens”) is proud to offer Guarantees on a select range of products, as detailed in the table at the bottom of this page.  These Guarantees are in addition to your statutory rights and are subject to the terms and conditions detailed below.

 

Product Guarantee Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all products referred to in the table below. 

Each Guarantee starts from the date of original purchase for the period stated. Howdens’ obligations under the Guarantees are limited to repair, replacement on an exchange basis, or the issue of a refund of the costs of the goods or those parts of the goods which are defective (at Howdens’ sole discretion).

The Guarantees do not exclude or limit your statutory rights.

Important notes

The Guaranteed Product must be correctly installed, located and used in accordance with any manufacturer’s instructions provided or made available with the product.

The Guarantees only apply to products that have been installed in a residential home in Ireland and does not apply to commercial use or use in a commercial property unless otherwise stated within the product information.

In addition, the Guarantees do not cover:

• replacement of any accessories and/or consumable items;
• damage or repairs required as a direct or indirect result of:
  • wilful damage, negligence, accidental damage, misuse of a product;
  • alterations or repairs made by a third party;
  • failure to store or use the Guaranteed Product properly and in accordance with Howden’s or manufacturer instructions;
  • swelling due to excessive moisture or other neglect;
  • improper storage following delivery, rot and/or infestation following delivery, leaks (or similar incidents);
• damaged or repairs caused by faulty or incomplete installation and/or repairs by an unauthorised person;
• damage caused by events outside Howdens’ control, including but not limited to household fires, explosion, contact with corrosive matter, extreme weather conditions, flood or vandalism;
• damage caused as a result of fair wear and tear; and/or
• damage caused or contributed to by pets, insects or other animals.

Any repaired, exchanged or replacement products will be guaranteed on the terms of this Guarantee for the unexpired portion of the guarantee period only and subject to these same terms and conditions.

 

How to make a claim under this Guarantee?

In the unlikely event of a problem occurring with your Guaranteed Product, please ensure you have proof of purchase and contact your local Howdens Depot who will be able to assist further.

Your local Howdens Depot will investigate the claim and if we believe there is a defect or fault covered by the Guarantee, we will at our option provide one of the remedies detailed above.

If you have any questions about the Guarantee on any of the products you have purchased, please contact your local Howdens Depot who will be able to advise further.

If you purchased a Guaranteed Product from one of our trade account holders, you do not need to go through them to be able to make a claim.  Please contact your local Howdens Depot for further assistance.

Guarantees for other branded products may be covered by separate manufacturer guarantees and may be subject to registration.
