Installation

Care and Maintenance Direct sunlight may have an effect on the colour of the floor over a period of time, Do not leave standing water on the floor, wipe up any spills immediately, Do not use abrasive cleaners, bleach or wax to maintain the floor., Do not use abrasive cleaning materials: scouring powders, steel wool, metal brushes etc., Do not use cleaning agents containing wax, polish or oil, Do not use steam mops or cleaners, General cleaning of the floor should be done using a soft broom or vacuum cleaner, Place a walk-off mat at outside entrances to reduce the amount of dirt brought into your home. Do not use mats with a latex or rubber backing since these backings can cause permanent discoloration., Self-adhesive pads and castor cups should be fitted to furniture to avoid scratching where applicable. Note: Heavy scratching could break the seal on the flooring causing damage, Use the floor exclusively under the recommended conditions outlined in the instructions

Important Notes Do not install cabinets over the floor, For timber based sub-floor, lay Bitumen Moisture Barrier Paper, Suitable for use with Foam Underlay, High Performance Underlay, Damp Proof Membrane, Paintable Damp Proof Membrane and Bitumen Moisture Barrier Paper, The expansion gap must be at least 2mm for each 1m span across the timber floor, Using a moisture meter ensure the room humidity level is between 40 - 65%. Screed / concrete floors must be under 2% moisture content, We recommend that heating should have been operating in the room for at least two weeks to ensure a stable temperature level, When Flooring Is Laid We Recommend Leaving a Minimum Perimeter Expansion Space of 8mm. This Will Be Covered by Skirting or Trim, Where chipboard and floorboards are the intended sub-floor it is recommended that a 12mm thick plywood or OSB is used. This especially applies when fitting timber flooring to a ground floor or below, where bitumen moisture barrier paper should be used between floorboards and the ply or OSB

Installation Notes A damp mat must not have prolonged contact with laminate flooring, After installation, any expansion gaps should be filled with a flexible silicone sealant which can then be covered with skirting, beading or across thresholds with a door-bar, Bathroom floors can be installed as normal, Ensure that after bathing / showering this mat is removed from the floor to dry, Extra care must be taken when using laminate flooring in bathrooms due to the increased risk of water damage, Make sure that any spilt water is wiped from the floor immediately and that you use a bath mat when getting out of the bath / shower, Make sure that you apply a flooring joint sealer (SDH0099) down the long & the short profile before clicking together - (and wipe away any excess immediately after clicking together) - in order to achieve optimum moisture resistance, Not suitable for wet rooms or saunas, Perimeter of floor should be sealed with flexible sealant, Under no circumstances should the toilet, bath or sink pedestal ever be screwed directly to the floor, instead a 12mm expansion gap should be left around the base

Laying Detail Must be laid as a floating floor (see instructions)

Underfloor Heating Detail Floor temperature must not exceed 80°F / 27°C. Turn the heat off for 24 hours before, during and 24 hours after installation when installing over radiant heated subfloors. Before installing over newly constructed radiant heat systems, operate the system at maximum capacity to force any residual moisture from the cementitious topping of the radiant heat system. Make sure that the temperature in the room is maintained consistent between 70-80°F / 20-25°C before and during the installation.
