Amy's mid-terrace house is more than 120 years old, which she has renovated to reflect the period details of the property. Making sure it matched her family's needs was important, and as her children have grown, she has found the formal layout of her cooking space was no longer fit for family life. In her new design, she wanted a modern take on heritage style, while creating an informal space for her family to gather during meal times. This meant a breakfast bar was a must, along with a fresh lick of paint that reflects the current trends.

Amy's existing setup featured a Howdens design which had stood the test of time, so she wanted to use our products again. Updating the layout and introducing a colourful, heritage-inspired scheme has turned this area into a family-friendly room that blends contemporary living with a classic aesthetic. Opting for a bold, marine-blue palette makes for a striking feature in the home, pairing an emerging tone with traditional door fronts for a modern take on a classic shaker.
