A challenging design.
Howdens Kidderminster go the extra mile to support their customers. Ellie was challenged by the kitchen design due to its galley style space that wasn’t easy to configure to include all the units and appliances we wanted to incorporate into the layout. Despite the many changes to our requirements, Ellie came up trumps and left us delighted with the end result, as an added bonus, below our allocated budget. Thankyou Ellie.

I have dealt with Howdens Kidderminster virtually every week for the last 3 years, their customer service is always second to none, they have always been supportive & helpful towards my business needs as well as my customers. I’ve been a kitchen fitter for 25 years…
I’ve been a kitchen fitter for 25 years and always find that howdens are bang on budget and quality for most of my customers. Any issues I’ve had, which you do get with kitchens the Kidderminster branch have always gone above and beyond to sort. From design to sales always been very welcoming and open.

An experience I want to forget
I contacted Howden's Kidderminster a few months ago and honestly found it very stressful and would not recommend using them. I was so glad when it was over and although the contact ended the conversations by ghosting me it turned out to be a blessing as it made me realise who I could trust. I spoke to 3 different kitchen companies and it turned into a 'who do I believe scenario'. It was the designer that came to measure the kitchen and he made errors with the measurements first of all. I had to chase a few times and then when I had the quote it was missing key things, one example being a sink! When they amended a quote they hadn't amended some of the other details that would be reduced by changing the quote (such as cupboard handles) and I had to point this out which shows bad attention to detail. I was told by another company who was trying to price match that they couldn't price match as the quote seemed very wrong and confusing and didn't seem to match the visuals and price I had got. This was therefore suggesting the kitchen would be cheaper then it was going to end up being and that I would then need to pay more. They said they had worked with price matching for other Howden's quotes where they had had an itemised list with quantities on but when I requested this from Howden's he said it wasn't possible to provide an itemised bill until the quote had gone through which is very bizarre! He got very defensive that I was suggesting there were errors on the quote and then started bashing the other company. I then said I just wanted to go in and talk to him about it in detail. At that point I felt in the middle and it was hard to know who to believe and that I just wanted to take my time with the decision and get all the facts. This was during October when Howden's had their annual sale and it was getting to the end of the month (the deadline for the sale) but I told him I wasn't going to make a decision until after the sale ended. I sent quite a detailed email saying that I was finding it quite stressful to know who to believe and he didn't respond to this email and then never contacted me again so to me actions speak louder then words. I understand he probably had a sales target to meet, and I have since got told that Howden's actually give holidays to the branch that makes the most sales during the annual sale but I don't agree with the way Howden's conducted themselves throughout my experience. He also put me in touch with 3 kitchen fitters. One gave me a ridiculously high quote of almost £5K and the other 2 didn't respond. I chose Wren in the end as I got good vibes from them and I'm really pleased with this decision as so far everything has gone very well and they have been so helpful. I will never contact Howden's Kidderminster again. I honestly hate having to write anything negative online but I feel strongly that this experience could have been so much better.

Fitting kitchens can be frustrating you…
Fitting kitchens can be frustrating you get parts missing and modifications to the specified drawings with issues that you uncover when removing the existing kitchens and these require immediate changes and this becomes a nightmare for the installer and the customer. Howdens with their branch network make this less stressful as all parts are available within a reasonable proximity and exchanging units and doors etc can be done usually the same day causing less delays allowing the tradesman to get the job finished and get paid on time and the customer to have the finished kitchen they wanted.
