The challenge is a 24 mile long route taking on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, and must be completed in less than 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the river Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Andy not only completed the challenge but he smashed the time coming in 10:03 hours in temperatures of minus 13˚C.

Andy took part in the challenge in memory of his mum, and through generous sponsorship and donations from the local community, raised £1500.

Andy adorned his walking boots for a second time later the same year, and took part in the walk with his wife Robyn accompanying him.
