The staff at Howdens

The staff at Howdens, Durham, were so helpful in picking my new kitchen. They knew which option was the best for me and helped me decide what to choose. The cost was the best around, very competitive. The fitters have made a brilliant job and I would highly recommend this branch. My new kitchen is exactly what I was looking for.

Chaotic

Nothing went right with this order even though we thought by getting it designed and ordering everything including the worktops and appliances would save any hassle we could not have been more wrong. Spent a fortune and our poor fitter made 15 calls in the first 2 days alone due to the wrong items being supplied. Issues then with worktop fitting and supply then issues with billing and impact on our builder despite us paying for everything up front. Maybe it’s just the Durham branch as he said he’s never had this before and although the staff were helpful with each issue we had I don’t know why it all went so wrong in the first place. Made it stressful and took much longer than it should have. Shame nice kitchen but I would never recommend due to the experience we’ve had.

Average service, terrible product

Quoted £88ish for a door before christmas, paid £111 for said door a week ago. Asked why the difference, got a rather sullen 'price rises', thats over 20% in a month to which i got no real explanation to justify this. Oh and checking the online price, which i forgot i had access to, the price was suprisingly lower. Average customer service and non transparent pricing seems to be the norm these days when visiting building/trade outlets. And the door was terrible quality.

Great service and price!

This is the first time I have needed to design and source a kitchen myself. The staff at the Durham branch were so helpful, in particular Michael, who took my measurements and designed it all for me. He even came out to check they were correct and made a few adjustments. The whole process was so easy!!
