Week 8 of waiting for someone to…

Week 8 of waiting for someone to contact me. My last review had a reply saying that someone from the Huddersfield depot was going to contact me. I had 1 phone call and I was at work so couldn’t answer. I phoned back twice, the first time nobody answered and the second time I spoke to a girl who said the manager had the weekend off and wouldn’t be in till the following Monday to which I said could you get him to ring me on the Monday. This was 11 days ago and still no response. Could you please get someone from another local depot to contact me regarding this. It’s almost 10 months since I first reported this to the kitchen fitter and 5 months since I contacted them directly and still nothing has been done. This company is an absolute joke.

6 weeks and still waiting.

6 weeks and still waiting. Just to recap , in November last year I contacted the Howdens kitchen designer about a problem I had with my kitchen. At this point it was still within its warranty period. When I heard nothing I contacted them myself, by this point it was a few weeks out of warranty. I sent images to be told it was moisture damage even though nobody had been to look at at. The second diagnosis was it had been in contact with something which if I could prove it hadn’t then they would sort it. Obviously I can’t do that like they can’t prove it had been in contact with something which. Anyway a few months down the line and I’m still waiting. Someone came out to show me replacement doors 6 weeks ago and no more contact. The conversation I had with the guy that came out was I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference with the new style door, which meant they wanted me to have mismatched doors which when I paid so much for a kitchen I’m not going to do. Every time I write a review I get the same reply that they have passed it on the the store which is the Huddersfield branch and still get no contact. I literally have 7 door and 3 drawers, the draws and 3 of the doors have all gone faulty in the same place. I won’t let this drop as I’m now stuck with a faulty kitchen which is just over 5 years old. Avoid this company and especially this branch if you want anything sorting. My old kitchen was 25,years old and we gifted it as it was still in a good condition. The one I have now is only got for the skip. Not fit for purpose.

Still waiting…. Review 3.

Still waiting…. It’s now 5 weeks since I’ve had any acknowledgment from Howdens in Huddersfield. 5 weeks since someone came to my house to show me some replacement doors. Could the customer service get any worse? I doubt it. This is review number 3 regarding this issue and I’m sure there will be a number 4.

This is a follow up to my first review.

This is a follow up to my first review. Still nowhere near getting this issue sorted. I was told by the manager at the Huddersfield branch that my doors and drawers had bubbled because they had been in contact with something, this is the second opinion they have as the first was because of moisture damage. They haven’t been in contact with anything which I told him to be told if I can prove it they would sort it. Obviously I can’t prove it which he knows so told him to prove that it had been in contact with something which he equally couldn’t do. He then offered to show me the newer version of the door which they did. But it turns out they were only replacing the faulty cupboards and drawers so I would end up with a mismatched kitchen which I’m not going to do. All I hear is well the kitchen is discontinued, which when I did my research was discontinued the same year in which I bought it and if I’d been told this would have chosen a different one. I’ve had no further contact with the manger for 3 weeks since someone came out to show the me new door . Communication and customer service from Howdens just gets worse. I fist contracted them in November last year when I contacted the kitchen designer. Unfortunately she went off poorly so wasn’t followed up which this was within the 5 year warranty. I emailed them myself a few months ago and still no further forward. Absolute dire company and would never use them again. We have emailed the Ombudsman.

Awful customer service

We had our new kitchen fitted in the February of 2021. In November last year I noticed 2 cupboard doors and 3 drawers has all started warping , the cupboard doors warped in the exact same place. I reported this by text to the kitchen designer and the kitchen fitter. November was within the 5 year warranty period. Both then went on long term sick so was never followed up. I have these messages and the dates I sent them with photos on my phone. I then reported it myself in March this year which then took me out of the 5 year warranty period by a few weeks. I sent photos which were sent off and a few weeks later received an email to say as it was now out of warranty and the kitchen discontinued so they couldn’t do anything as they said it was due to moisture even though nobody had been out to look. So I requested a home inspection which was 4 weeks ago to be again told it had been discontinued and as id already been told they wouldn’t do anything to basically not hold out much hope. My first kitchen lasted 22 years and was still in good condition so we gave it to someone else and also have wooden windows that are almost 30 years old with no moisture damage. There is no excess moisture in the kitchen. And when we have looked into it the kitchen was discontinued the same year as we bought it and if we had been told it was being discontinued would have chosen a different one. So I have a kitchen which is just over 5 years old with damage that I am stuck with. Nobody has been back in touch since the visit 4 weeks ago. All they seemed to care about was that the kichen was discontinued and can no longer get hold of it. My son is a joiner and has said this is not caused my moisture as the doors would have warped in other places not in the identical place on both. I still have the messages showing when I reported it in November but modify seemed interested.

Islington fit out

I do circa3 kitchen installs per annum , after a customer was taking a considerable length of time to get there design finalised in Islington ,we decided approach the Old field house lane Howdens branch in Huddersfield. A young professional lady called Faith was handed the commission and quickly came back with a preliminary draught of how the kitchen was going to be!.... Being a high end North London residence and the customer being of a very particular nature [which she has every right to be, choosing a kitchen is a big commitment] the design was tweaked may times, sometimes only taking moments for the amended layouts to come through so plumbers. ducting engineers and electricians could progress with the 1st fix. I've been in the game way too long now but I can certainly say this is world class service. certainly my go-to contact from now. Absolutely priceless

Howdens attended the house with the home owner and assisted with Kitchen selection followed by a meeting to review doors etc at the showroom, and subsequently facilitated the materials being collected at the Huddersfield branch.
