Howdens in Leeds have been horrendous

Howdens in Leeds have been horrendous. They offered to price match DIY kitchens but downgraded the products and removed the larder pantry without telling me. After weeks of negotiations they eventually agreed to give me an actual like for like match. There’s an absolute lack of transparency, they give no prices, quantities or product details so it makes it impossible to review. It’s now 3 weeks post delivery and I’m still waiting for so many items that are missing, and they ordered incorrect items and it will be 5 weeks until the correct items are ready (it’s paint to order which should be 3 weeks). They don’t respond to emails and phone calls. They have driven me, my builder and the joiner to despair.

Mel is brilliant

Mel at Howdens was absolutely incredible throughout the whole process. She handled the process from start to finish so professionally and gave us so many good ideas and inspirations for our kitchen- to the point where she even acted as mediator when me and my wife were arguing about certain choices She liaised with our builder throughout the process and if ever there was an issue she would sort it herself seamlessly without involving us. We literally couldn’t fault anything at all, she is a fantastic designer and just brilliant at her job. Not in the least bit salesy and ultimately just a really honest decent person. Thanks very much Mel. We honestly couldn’t be more grateful to you for all you’ve done for us.

Exceptional customer service

Having not been to Howdens for many years the level customer service at Howdens has improved massively! I was welcomed and looked after from the minute I walked in. Mel helped me so much - really knew her stuff and made suggestions and provided brilliant advice. I was purchasing for a friend who was unwell so this level of support was really appreciated. I would totally recommend - especially if you are lucky enough to be helped by Mel Brown!! Good value for money too! 👍

Top notch from start to finish

Ben at the Sheepscar branch was great to work with - excellent eye for detail and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the products. We had a design in mind, and he made some really helpful suggestions to tweak, alter and move things around to improve the design and save us money. On top of that he was friendly and has a good sense of humour - can’t fault him, the branch or the products. Thank you!
