…"Faulty Appliance and Poor Aftercare — Ongoing Issues Ignored

I purchased an AEG KMK761000M combination microwave and oven through Howdens in 2021. From day one, the internal microwave light never worked. Since then, the appliance has suffered three separate failures of the microwave magnetron component — the same fault repeatedly. Two repairs were attempted under warranty by Pacifica, but the faults kept reoccurring. Despite providing full documentation of the repeated issues, Howdens insisted on yet another engineer’s report, even though prior reports clearly confirmed the persistent faults. I also requested mediation to resolve the issue, which was refused. The appliance is still under AEG’s 5-year warranty, but despite this, I have been left with an appliance that is not fit for purpose and has never functioned correctly. It has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience dealing with both Howdens and AEG. After several attempts to resolve this amicably, I am now forced to escalate my case externally. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Howdens or AEG products or services. I expected better customer support and a swift resolution under the Consumer Rights Act and warranty terms.
