We bought a kitchen and flooring from…

We bought a kitchen and flooring from then. The flooring even though comes with a guarantee of residential use of 15-30 years and is resistant to castor markings apparently. The flooring has started to bow and crack after 1.5 years since it’s been laid and getting worse. The line has also been discontinued! First of all they were going on the joiners say so they thought it was water damage. After much back and forth they reluctantly sent out an inspector who worked for howdens so not independent. Essentially blamed it on the fitter and not their problem but no water damage mentioned on the report and if I want to have an independent inspector have to pay for it myself if I want that. The Joiner had questions for the inspector but would not speak to the joiner about his findings So I’m at a stalemate where neither one will give me compensation towards a few better quality floor. So in conclusion their floors did not last 15-30 years and Howdens did not honour their guarantees and tried to worm out of resolving my issue. One very unhappy customer and do not buy the flooring! Kitchen is not great either. Dents here and there. A part needed fitting to their unsafe dryers. Hard to keep streak free and only after I realised the cupboards are not very deep and I only have half the cupboard space I used to have. Don’t buy from them peeps!

I would highly recommend Howdens

I would highly recommend Howdens . Nicky Molfino is very professional. He designed my new kitchen.He was able to advise me on how to maximise storage , problems I experienced with the former kitchen no longer exist as he found solutions for every one of them . The staff in Howdens were all very helpful and they managed to manoeuvre a very heavy fridge into my kitchen without a scratch.Very happy with my new kitchen.

I purchased flooring from this company…

I purchased flooring from this company in Galashiels and paid for them to fit my flooring in my kitchen and livingroom. Very soon gaps began to appear in the floor and I contacted them asking them to fix this. They sent a joiner out to fill in the gaps but they reappeared. This flooring is called Vinyl Click and is expensive. Im a pensioner so dont have the money to replace this myself I spent my savings on this. They just dont want to know and I have heard that other families have also complained. Ive written to Trading Standards as I have no other choice.
