Really smart and solid

We bought a 1930s house which was unmodernised. At the time of the initial survey the kitchen and dining room were two adjoining rooms which we planned to knock through. Amanda came and talked through what we needed, took measurements etc. She made a plan showing the new layout with the wall removed, it was so helpful. She was also patient when we swapped the kitchen from the back to the front of the house. The showroom has really great layouts and samples of doors, handles and worktops etc. The cupboards are really solid, we went for the Chelford Dusk Blue doors, with oak effect inside which looks really classy with the Ethereal Glow worktop. We paid about twice as much (from a different supplier) on our kitchen in our old house and I prefer this. I would not change anything, and everyone who's seen it is really impressed.

Hugely recommend

Found the Llanishen crew exceeded my expectations. From the initial contact with Michelle to arrange the planning of a new kitchen and bedroom. Chloe was exceptional, very patient, I changed my mind on numerous occasions and it didn't faze her. Delivery was planned in stages, due to limited space. There were a few hiccups here but, everything was sorted out effortlessly and professionally. Result is a beautifully finished kitchen and master bedroom expertly installed by Lee Rogers. Highly recommend

I've been using my local Llanishen branch for over 15 years. Lovely, friendly staff with good product knowledge. I often pop in for a coffee and a chat. Great kitchens, well worth a visit.

Avoid

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Initially felt the service was good but as soon as they have your money they wash their hands of any responsibility. Used a fitter suggested by this branch who has left my kitchen unfinished and to a poor standard. The fitter has since ignored all messages and attempts to contact him. I contacted Howdens as I noticed one of the units was damaged a few weeks after the kitchen was fitted and my kitchen is unfinished. It took 3 emails and 2 phone calls for Howdens to actually come out to my property and look. Although they hadn't actually booked me in when they said they had, so again required me to chase. They said that they would chase my fitter as surely they have more sway with him than I would. The following week, I get an email saying as there isn't fault with the units themselves but due to the fitter they take no responsibility for this. I then said the fitter I used was suggested by them, to which their response was that they just provide a selection of local fitters, not suggestions. Call me naive, but you providing details is a suggestion in my eyes. It also appears they never bothered to chase the fitter like they said they would. I'm now left with a substandard unfinished kitchen for the cost of nearly £10,000. I'm sure this review will receive a generic response of please contact us but I have and the branch just do not care. Update 15th December- it's been 2 weeks and no one has got in contact with me despite Howdens saying they would be in contact on here.

0 stars - would not recommend

If I could give -stars I would. Shocking aftersales service. I have used howdens for a number of years through the carpenters who have carried out work for me. Usually a very high standard of product. What is clear is that when there is an issue they will do anything to avoid admitting a fault. My herringbone flooring is bubbling and peeling - if you look at their website it actually says this will not happen. I have provided photos etc. I have followed manufacturers cleaning instructions and no chemicals have been used on the flooring...they have suggested its cleaning product residue. This has not been the only issue with the flooring. The back and forth continues while I am left with a rubbish quality of flooring. Will not use again. In response to Howden response... I have shared my email address and contact details previously and have not heard anything. Currently dealing with store who are leasing with product team(?)

Appalled

Absolutely appalled at the customer service/complaints department. Passed onto these by Llanishen Store. Following me ringing them I was assured they would ring back within 48 hrs- they didn't!! Email a week later saying they couldnt help despite me having a further issue with floor. The top layer is peeling off leaving black marks - thus issue has been completely ignored! If I could give no stars I would! 2 months of back and forth and then an email which says they can't help. After spending over £1000 I don't know why they think I will accept a poor quality product.

After Sales/customer service

After 2-3 months of trying to reach a resolution with the Llanishen Store. I have been passed to customer service - was given a number to ring which i did but they couldnt help. I was told that someone from complaints would ring me within 48hrs. I am still waiting! Purchased a floor last June and have had nothing but trouble since I noticed it cracking in several places. It is now peeling. Something is clearly not right but no-one seems to want to help. Flooring has a long guarantee but no offer of refund or replacement. Very disappointed. Automated response on trustpilot..still had no one contact me!😡
