I’m owed £1600
I’m owed £1600, but Howdens is only returning £1,000. Ordered two wardrobes and a boot room. The depth of the boot room cabinets would never work in the space without being cut. Wardrobes had to be redelivered twice. Still missing parts. Some of the parts missing are the ones that were never delivered. Absolutely the worst company to deal with. Never email me when they say they will, never return phone calls. Go anywhere else. I emailed you as requested. But no response.

New Kitchen
Arranged an appointment with Paul Donachie at Howdens in Paisley to discuss a new kitchen. Paul showed us the various displays and gave advice so that we could give some thought to want we wanted. He arranged a suitable time to call and measure our kitchen so he could come up with a plan taking into account what we wanted. We were delighted with the plan and ideas Paul came up with. After selecting the kitchen with advice and guidance from Paul we were provided with pictures what it would look like. Paul provided his phone number and said we could call anytime if we had any questions. He also gave us details of some joiners that they use for installing new kitchens. Not knowing tradesmen in the area this gave us confidence in who we were going to use for the fitting. During the whole process Paul was extremely helpful, answering further questions and when he was unable to take a call he called back later in the day. Kitchen fitted and we are absolutely delighted with the finished article and the price. Paul helped so much throughout the whole process and would have no hesitation in recommending him and Howdens to anyone planning a new kitchen.

Refund problem
Spent £18K on a kitchen, 2 sets of wardrobes, internal doors and 40m² LVT flooring. Quality of goods very good, no problems with that at all. Some goods were returned over time of installation. The problem is with the final settlement of £926 refund due to me after making the last of the returns. Depot advised the trade account is a cash account and for returns they make credits to the trade account and then agree with the trade account holder to refund the money to me. However they cannot refund the money as the trade account doesn't have enough credit in it. Had that been explained to me I would have ensured I was refunded money per return instead of waiting until the final return. Howdens did nothing to manage this with the trade account owner and ensure I got money refunded for credits applied. The trade account owner has apparently been able to use these credits to buy other goods that were nothing to do with me. The trade account owner claims not to have been informed by Howdens that credits were made for refunds to me. I've requested a full refund repeatedly via the depot assistant manager, repeatedly tried to contact the depot manager and been referred back to same assistant manager. I've tried the complaints team who gave me the email address of Howdens credit manager who has not replied. I've been offered a refund of the amount of credit in the trade account which is less than half the amount due and told it's between me and the trade account owner to get the outstanding amount back into the trade account. Howdens taking no responsibility for management of the trade account with the account owner and leaving me out of pocket indefinitely. What a diabolical way to treat the paying customer.
