I wish I could give Howdens zero stars!

I wish I could give Howdens zero stars! The first problem I had was their ' Designer' - she hadn't got an ounce of design ability whatsoever and could just wheel a tape measure and that led to her totally excluding a very large downpipe in the kitchen and ignoring my assertion that I did not want to dark cupboards in the latest spot in my kitchen. The fun started when it came to pricing though because it's almost £17,000 for a small kitchen - that was extortionate- I asked for a price list and was told no such thing exists which really makes me question how the hell they prepare a quote... this is despite my fitter having given them permission to share pricing with me by the way- they said they couldn't get hold of him to verify this and I had him in my house and he demonstrated they had not tried to call him one single time in three weeks! Within days I discovered they didn't have the worksurface that I had chosen in their showroom, nor could they supply most of the utilities in anything other than their own rubbish brand, Lamona. Without a price list I couldn't possibly look to see what I could sacrifice to get the price down. I consulted for other kitchen companies including B&Q and DIY kitchens in South Emil and not one of them came in at more than £10,000. Their approach was helpful with B&Q particularly searching the market so that I could have the Neff appliances that I wanted going above and beyond their job description and my expectations. I went with B&Q eventually on the advice of my kitchen fitter who said he stopped fitting Howdens over a year ago because of the quality of their product.... and had fitted many B&Q kitchens this year without problem. I have Neff utilities and where Neff couldn't supply something in the right size I have Bosch- I have the copper taps and handles that I wanted, lights in every cupboard and every gadget I could possibly need with storage suited to my disabilities- I also have an extra thick, solid, oak worktop ( four of them actually) and STILL the kitchen came in at a few pounds over £8000 ❤️ I tried really hard to work with Howdens but they seriously could not care less because there is always a string of new victims that will buy from them! *** I placed this review following a link on an invite from trustpilot which incorrectly has attached this to the Sherburn in Elmet store- my review is about the Flanshaw, Wakefield store ***

great design

great design, put customers needs first. I feel so lucky I worked with Lewis. Lewis has been so accommodating and patient when i want to changes things, He's friendly, supportive throughout this stressful yet exciting journey. appreciate his attention to details, i loved my new kitchen, everything came out the same as he designed. highly recommend.

Excellent service throughout

Excellent service throughout from Howdens at Sherburn-in-Elmete. Jodie was great, she designed my kitchen, bedroom wardrobes and a dressing table, all were perfect to my requirements. The quality of the units are superb, the entire process was well planned, organised and stress free. The fitters, Liam & Craig, were recommended to me, and were competent, meticulous, cleaned up, had respect for my home and hard working with everything planned as stress free as possible. Thanks to all, I will be hopefully using the same team in the future in a new home.
