Combined Washer Dryers are a popular option for those living in flats, or more compact houses without a separate utility area or the outdoor space to hang laundry to dry.
All washing machines and tumble dryers receive an energy efficiency rating from A-G, in line with EU guidelines. Currently, the highest energy efficiency rating that a Washing Machine can achieve is an A rating and for Tumble Dryers an A+++ rating. For Tumble Dryers, newer models are more efficient than older ones, but the most energy-efficient types are heat pump dryers, which Samsung offers. When it comes to Washing Machines, Samsung's ecobubble™ technology and QuickDrive™ technology are also energy efficient innovations. Samsung’s ecobubble™ technology washes clothes at a lower temperature, helping you launder more sustainability and Samsung’s QuickDrive™ technology also saves energy by reducing washing time by up to 50%*.

There are three main types of tumble dryers: vented, condenser and heat pump. A heat pump tumble dryer is a type of condenser dryer that works by reheating circulating air, rather than warming it with a heating element, making them more cost-effective, and gentle on your laundry too. Samsung dryers use heat pump technology as standard. Heat pump models are the most energy-efficient on the market because they re-use (not release) warm air, like other dryers. This means use just half the energy of conventional dryers, making them kinder to the environment.
Washing machine capacity is given in kilograms; it refers to the maximum load weight a particular model can hold. The larger the capacity, the more items you’ll be able to wash at once. Capacity usually refers to cottons, so it’s worth remembering that this usually refers to cotton programs only; the usable capacity for other cycles may differ.
Washing machine dimensions can vary, so you should always double check the width, height and depth of your washing machine against the space that’s available.
It might sound obvious, but it’s worth getting to grips with the different wash programs out there to ensure you’re running the best cycle for your load.
