Featuring a versatile design from our Frome collection, this modern shaker kitchen makeover creates a space fit for a family. The home Cheryl shares with her husband and children hadn’t been updated in almost 20 years and needed a refresh. With the help of Howdens and Cheryl's trusted trade professionals Scott and Mark, the space has been transformed. A Frome shaker kitchen was chosen in a porcelain tone. This was combined with a bold, Hockley Dark Oak to create a fitted kitchen packed with character. Cheryl’s builder also included some clever storage solutions that make family life easier, such as a bifold breakfast cupboard for those busy school mornings. About Cheryl

Cheryl is a studio manager and a digital creator, sharing home content with her 373,000 followers. She lives in a 4 bedroom, detached house with her husband and 2 children. After knocking through a utility area, they were left with a room that felt mismatched and worn. To give their home a new lease on life, they turned to Howdens and their trusted tradies, Scott and Mark, who have years of kitchen fitting experience.

Design Goals

With her old space looking dated, Cheryl wanted a new look that continued her neutral scheme. To contrast this bright palette, she was also looking to add a darker focal point on her new kitchen island. Meanwhile, clever storage was a must to help keep the home tidy during busy mornings.

Finished Floor Plan

Cheryl chose Frome in a timeless porcelain hue to create a fresh design and protect against changing trends. To counter this soft tone, Hockley Dark Oak was chosen to inject character. Finally, a breakfast cupboard with integrated shelving was added to make those busy school mornings easy.

Thanks to a shallow panel and smooth finish, Cheryl’s Frome kitchen mixes traditional, shaker style with modern touches. Combined with a porcelain finish that will stay in style, it seamlessly blends into Cheryls neutral colour scheme.
