A Modern Kitchen Makeover With Helen & Mark

Adding a contemporary update to their classic property, this modern kitchen makeover with Helen and Mark explains how they transformed the cooking space in their converted chapel into a refined setting to welcome guests. Featuring a sophisticated colour scheme, marble-effect surfaces, and brass accents, this kitchen makeover is decadent and dynamic, while clever storage recommended by their designer at the Norwich depot, meant holiday goers could kick back and relax in a clutter-free home from home.

            About Helen & Mark

Helen and Mark took on a chapel conversion in the scenic town of New Buckenham, Norfolk. With ambitions to turn it into a holiday home, they sought a contemporary cooking space that offered a touch of luxury to visiting guests. Seeking help from our Norwich depot, the couple created a refined interior, packed full of amenities, that took their quaint pad from simple to star-rated.

            The design detials

            • Stylish slab doors

Helen and Mark selected a simple foundation to build upon with slab-style doors. This minimalist backdrop offers a clean aesthetic that outlasts interior fashions.
            • A refined palette

The soft colour of their sandstone scheme extends the sense of space while maximising natural light to make the couple's property look bright and inviting.
            • Luxurious laminate

Recreating the appearance of premium materials, Helen and Mark chose laminate surfaces in a marble-effect pattern as a budget-friendly alternative to solid stone.
            • Brass accents

Trimline handles have a discreet design that maintains their pared-back style, while the brass finish adds a refined touch to their art-deco scheme.
            • Savvy storage

Storage is key when designing a busy cooking space, so the couple chose accessories, like shelves, to keep cupboards organised.
            • 06 built-in-oven

              Built-in baking

Integrated equipment reduces visual clutter continuing the serene scheme, while energy-efficient models lower running costs to keep their home affordable to let.
